SHOW CHOSEN FOR E-MIX PROJECT
Blocked inside a wardrobe, two characters are eternally waiting, hanging as two old abandoned coats. Torn between the want to escape and the wish to remain, they survive inside this narrow space. Being both rivals and accomplices, their life together is close to become absurd and any little, ordinary move becomes a real challenge. Fear, frustration and need force them to emerge. Against all odds, they find themselves in the outer world and the nightmare starts again, but now it is slightly different...
A mixture of the elegance of Charlie Chaplin as a tramp, the absurd world of Buster Keaton and the cheerful desperation of Samuel Beckett, they create two silent characters, obsessed and alive, who discover moments of dysfunction in everyday life, and question the human condition and the meaning of our existence.
Idea and performance: Gyöngyi Biro, Sophie Weis. Playwrite assistant: Véronique Gendre. Music: Laurence Poirot. Lighting: Eric Fourez
